Default 01' Bumper Removal

I took the bottom bumper piece off (the plastic one) and I want to keep it off but there is a plastic scoop going into the radiator that it leaves exposed and kills the look I want. No one Ive talked to knows about it. Wondering what my options here are? Can I take its off and whats it for?

It is there to help direct air flow up through the radiator. And, yes, it is very easy to remove. However, removing it is up to you. You'll have folks say don't move it or you will overheat all the time and others say that it will not affect the cooling system in the least.

I myself removed mine about ten years ago when I put in my winch and I haven't had any problems since.
