Whats the difference between these bulbs they look the exact same

RE: 880 and H3

The wire. The 880 uses a plug that plugs in the 880 base, the h3 uses a wire soldered into the base that plugs into the truck

880 plug goes in
h3 plug goes out

will an h3 bulb fit into a 1997 oem fog lamp that use 880 series bulbs?
