Default 98+ mirrors on a 96?

Hey,

I have been looking up this for awhile and can't find much information on it. Does anybody know if 98+ mirrors will fit on a 96? I know BlaziNator converted his 95-97 mirrors to a 98+, but we aren't sure if the electrical side of this swap can be done? Anybody shed some light on this?

"mirror+conversion" in the search box turns up this thread:
02 Power mirrors on a 97 wiring help?

Thanks for the help Kyle!

Typed the wrong thing into the search box.

I typed "98+ mirrors on a 96."

Looks like the thread you gave me, people are having problems with hooking up the new style mirrors. It looks like nobody has successfully done it yet.

Over the the weekend I switched out the mirrors on my 98 envoy to the ones from a 99 up. I was un-aware that the connectors on either mirrors were different. So i ended just switching out both front door harness to fit the new mirrors, got the harness from the junk yard.... I think the 95-98 mirrors look the same and would think the connectors should also.
