so I was wondering if you could take off the chipped looking side molding or should I just color match it to the jimmy I didn’t know if there where clips or adhesive behind it so wanted to ask before I did anything
Or would it look better to paint/ maybe plasti dip the jimmy symbol and the siding
I would color match. The chrome is attached to a bigger plastic piece that is riveted and taped to the door. If you plan on removing the entire molding to do the paint, I would suggest doing the rust preventing and repainting of the door itself at the same time.

If I do decide on painting it I’m just going to mask off the surrounding area. What do you think about the jimmy symbol also color match it or just leave as is
I was looking at the duplicolor like small spray can color match paint with the paint, the clear coat, and the primer and would I have to get the primer also I know with like a car you gotta primer it but with the molding and the lettering I had no idea if it needs to be primer or not and I don’t have to sand it at all should I ?
by the way thanks for the help
also I am going to do more searching but I cannot find magnetic red in touch up paint cans or the duplicolor stuff if I end up can’t find it what would you recomend to do

A proper clean, if you want it to last, a light sand to roughen the surface. Primer coats(a couple to make sure you get a good layer), then color coats(again a couple to get a good layer). A light sand to even it out, then make sure everything is clean yet again, and you'll be able to clear coat it to bring it closer to a body shine finish.
After searching I did not find any metallic red aresol can paint or paint match cans so what would you recomend to do about that. This is probably the last question by the way
