I had to ride on sticking calipers on both rear tires till I could scrape some cash together to fix 'em and the back of my truck is coated in brake dust. Good ol' fashioned elbow grease isn't doin the trick. Anyone know how to get this crap off with the least amount of paint scratching possible???

 

Maybe try using Clay Magic

 

do you mean its on the paint? if so it may need to be buffed off.

 

I'll try the clay bar first... Its all on the top of the rear fender and the lip on the bottom of the tailgate... I know next to nothing about body work, how would I buff it out and what tools would I need?

 

Make sure that you have an agitator for the clay bar...it should either come with it or it's sold seperately. If you use it without the agitator, the clay will just smear in the paint. The stuff we used was called 'Clay Magic' it also takes of overspray. Good stuff. To buff, I recommend having a pro do it, it's tricky and takes time. If you're not careful you could EASILY buff your paint off and rip off any pinstriping (if you have any). I don't know if they have any buffers that run without an air compressor, but you'll need several compounds to complete the job. My advice, go to a pro if the clay stuff doesn't work.
