Default Brand Of Body Filler Do You Use?

Bondo?

Is it cheap quality? I am seeing some bubbles in teh stuff that I am mixing up on my blazer. Just wondering what the differences are in body filler brands.

What do you use and why?

I use Rage Gold. Not bad cost wise, sands easily.

Not sure who makes it, you can get it at most auto paint stores. I'm thinking my last gallon was around $30.

I think the last stuff I bought was rage gold, definitly sands easier than bondo. Before that though i always bought bondo and it worked just fine. Its all in the prep bro. Just make sure you mix it good and apply it on a clean surface.

What do you guys think of the idea of laying fiberglass over the metal before bondo..? that way it kinda helps the problem area be free of salt and such from hitting it again and tearing down the paint pretyy easily

I don't think bondo is a bad product. I however use evercoat cause that is what we use at the shop. If your wanting some fiberglass in the filler look for tiger hair. Can't remember if that is the name or a nickname that it has fiberglass in the filler.

Rage is Fibreglass Evercoat (F&E), 3M bought the brand a few years ago. Rage,Rage gold is what most of the quality shops use in our area. 3M also bought several other brands including Bondo,Dynatron, and Duramix to name a few.
