Ok so i know what a normal lift kit is made up of but im told a body lift is cheaper, i just dont understand how its done it seems like it would be alot more work.... could someone explain it to me

 

Body lift is just what it says, you lift the body up from the chassis with blocks...

 

Isnt that hard to do? I guess i dont know what im talking about but it just seems like a ton of work

A body lift is "normally" much easier to do than a suspension lift. No fabrication or welding needed.

Basically, unbolt the body bolts, jack the body up a couple of inches, install blocks and body bolts. Now, that is very basic instructions as you also need to extend a few other things here and there, but that is in essence a body lift.

 

And whats the price on it? Cause i would put bigger tires and rims on there to.

 

That would depend on how high you want to go...if you're going to do it yourself or pay labour...what type of tires you buy..what kind of rims you buy...it's all variable lol.

You can get either a 1",2" or 3" body lift, unless you want to fabricate your own custom blocks. Performance Accessories and BDS are the two companies that make them for our trucks. Price should be from $200-250 or so. Labor can be up to $400 or more. You can do it yourself with some help, or not. Pretty easy to do, just time consuming.

 

Just my opinion, but body lifts look HORRIBLE especially on these trucks. We can already see almost all of the frame rails under our doors, and if you install a body lift you can see the entire frame rail and it looks like asssssss! save your money and buy a 6" suspension lift.
