I had mine mounted to my tire carrier, its pretty open to where you can mount it, most whips come with a mirror mounting bracket, and you can take the one piece off of it and mount it with self tapping screws pretty much anywhere as long as you don't mind drilling into your body. I wouldn't recommend getting a fiberglass one they tend to break pretty easy. CB radios are fun to have especially if you have friends with CB's much easier than calling them. Also fun to mess with truck drivers, and getting a PA system to mess with the locals.

Basically what benedict said lol.
But as far as common mounting locations, I have seen on the left or right rear bumper is a popular spot. And also I've seen plenty mounted onto a roof basket on top.
I think cb's also pick up some law enforcement talk too.
One of the many uses of a cb radio would also be to use in an emergency to contact someone. Car accident, injury, etc.

I believe the universal channel for emergencies is channel 9, never really heard any chatter on there but read somewhere that would be the channel to use if you ever need help. Channel 19 is where you will hear the most truck driver chatter

That's what I've heard. I might be getting a cb within the next couple weeks. I want to find a good deal.

I'm going with the same basic mounting location Ugly_Monkey did and putting it up on the roof rack, with an easy-over so I can fold it down for everyday use.

i love the look of em, its more just where to mount them because its an suv, not a truck. i would never get fiberglass ones, my friend had 48" whips on his f150, hit em twice on the garage door and they snapped right in the middle. He was real happy then

It that what you used to have benedict? The cobra 19?
And I just thought of something. If you mount it that high and don't fold it down during a storm, it is basically a lightning rod lol.

For optimal performance, the roof (preferably centered) is the best location for your antenna. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than you do your antenna being struck by lightning.
