Default Does this sound right?

Here's the deal I'm wanting to have my blazer painted this coming winter and a friend said he would do it. I have seen several of his projects and they are beautiful, almost like you can stick your hand through the paint. I am wanting a specific color called copperhead metallic. It was used on Stacy David's 70's chevy truck he did when he was on the show trucks on Spike. Then I was going to use a silver metallic color for twin SS stripes. My friend says he will charge me for what ever paint and supplies he uses he couldn't quote me for these as he would have to go to the store to find out but he said with just the Copperhead Metallic and all the coats needed to ensure long life, for just the labor it would be around $1,500 and with the stripesit would be around $2,000 if I did the stripes he would pant my mirrors andgrill forfree. Here is a linkto Stacy's website to see the color. http://www.gearztv.com/index.php?em2...s&ek=96289
Please ratethe the color (1-10). I think it would be different.
What do you think for the price and color (Do It or Not)?

I forgot he said he would also throw in painting my dash trim to match the bodyand would paint the gauge face to match and the piece around the gauges (not the trim) silver and my center console orange.

I'm kind of a sucker for that color, I like it. The price is very fair for a professional job, especially with all the extras he's offering.

I think thats what I am going to do. I am hoping to do it either this coming winter or spring I have just a little more money to save and I need to find a period of about6 -7 days, he said to allow for him to take things apart properly and for him to properly do the spray and dry cycles as he would be doing this after work at his houseso it would be in his spare time.

Hey, I not real paintintelligent so some of you body guys heres a question, taking in consideration I heavily off road and around here there are a rash of a**hole truckers that are too lazy to cover their damn load so what can I do to help protect the paint. I know its gonna get scratched and I know there is nothing I can do about that its gonna happen. Is there like an extra layer of clear or something he could put over for years long life. I just want it to last.

they make a rattle can paint that you put on the bottom of your rockers that helps with scratches like you said.
