Door pin replacement
Howdy! To replace the upper door pin and bushing, does the door HAVE to come off?
It seems that if I simply jack up the door using a piece of wood for stability,I should be able to knock the old pin out. What do you folks think? Thanks!

Not trying to memberate, but, double posting will get you in hot water... once is enough.
As far as your question goes, if you are replacing the bushings too, which you should be to do it right, you will need to remove the door as I recall to get the bushings in the mounts. If I am wrong, someone here will correct me. Do as you mentioned, put a block of wood & a jack under the door for stability, use a ratchet strap or a friend to hold the door, and just slide it back enough to pop out the old pins/bushings, and then install the new bushings, slide it back into position and slip in the pins. The doors will work like new when done.

The door must at least be pulled away far enough to get the hinge halves clear of each other.

By using a door spring compression tool as suggested in a multitude of other posts on this subject.
