Default 86 door removal - issues with power windows/locks

I just started a restoration project for an 86 K5.
I need to remove the doors in order to get a better angle at replacing the rocker panels.
I have power windows and locks and I'm having trouble disconnecting the wiring for both.
I don't see any way to get to where the wires connect to either.
I'd prefer to have manual windows/locks anyway and I'm almost to the point of just cutting the wire in order to remove the door. That way I could just convert everything to manual once I'm ready to install the door again.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
