i am thinking about putting a fresh coat of black paint on my car but i cant seem to find a quote. how much does it cost to get a paint job that is either as good or better that the factory paint job, i have seen other people that have tried to do this but they get orange peel in a couple of years

I fyou want a good quality lifetime paint job you can expect between $1500 and $2000. You should get orange peel right away if your gonna get it at all. Orange peel is the result of not being wet sanded properly or enough at that. Which is why alot of factory vehicles have orange peel, the company just doesnt have the time to waste on wetsanding for the perfect flat smooth surface.

If you don't want orange peel, then it will need to be wetsanded, body work done, shot with color coat, dried, color sanded, clear coated, dried, wet sanded, and then polished out. Long process, but well worth the results. Costs alot too, so start saving up now and when your actually ready you will have enogu money to get it looking the way you want, maybe even something custom!

like he was saying a nice paint job is pricey, i just got mine repainted for a lil over 6gs. but they did a damn good job and took the whole truck apart to repaint it, i.e.: doors, fenders, hood, interior, and windows to do it.

Chevy Lover, did you go down to the bare metal or did you just go down to the primer basecoat?

What color is your truck going to be when it's all done, Chevy?
