Default Front end conversion question

I know that there are kits to upgrade the front end to the newer style, thanks for the sticky btw. My question is though, instead of buying one of the more expensive kits can i not just go to the salvage yard and pick up the parts? I would think it is cheaper that way if it is possible. Anyone done it this way? if so what all will i need to find?

Without knowing what you are working on, it is hard to say if it will work.

If you want to upgrade to the '98+ style, all you need is the grille, headlights, turn signals, bumper and core support. You can probably do the swap in a weekend.

don't forget the wiring too.

and you may as well just buy a new rad support, since they're not that much, and 99% of the ones @ a wreckers is gonna be rotted to some degree.

Youll need the headlight wiring harness. lmctruck.com
Or js cut some off a 98+ s10 or blazer and put them on ur blazer.
its wat I did, but i dont recommend it.

As for the front end swap. its EASY
you DONT need a newer front bumper either.
Took me 2hrs to do.

I have a pewter grill, chrome bar, and turnsignals that I took off my '02 LS. PM me if you're interested.

Later, Doug
