Added protection of the metal. Have seen many a higher mile car that has had the paint rubbed down to the metal. Especially in the heel area by the accelerator.

Depending on the area of the country, they use salt on the roads in Ohio during the winter, so I have seen the bare metal, even the slightest nick, go to rust.

He should do the same to the steering wheel too. That way when he rear-ends someone and hits his head...

have you bed lined your exterior mirrors? they take a beating...branches, bugs...never know.
