line X?
i'm looking at doin the same thing and using it below the trim line so i talked to my uncle who owns his own body shop. he gave me a can of 3M Underseal Rubberized Undercoating and said it would work. i havent applied it yet because i am still working on the body work and sanding it down. on the back of the can it says "Sprays easily, dries quickly, and provides a very tough film that is resistant to abrasion. Remains flexible. Ideal for coating repair areas, such as wheel wells, trunk areas, undercarriages, and floor pans." i'm not sure where u get it but if u need more info pm me
I picked up a can of that at Autozone! Works great for refinishing the frame rails! It does not have the same texture as line-x though..I'm not so sure it would look the same on the body like you're expecting.
If you do decide to use it, don't freak out when you first spray it on. It bubbles up quite a bit, and takes a good 24hrs to settle down and seal.
