Default Locking glove box?

I have a 2001 4 door LT Blazer and was wondering if there are any aftermarket locking glove boxes or if it's very difficult to install a lock cylinder? Has any member here done this modification?

Is there any tried and true way to install a lock box, anywhere, into a second gen blazer?

I don't they make a locking glove box but if you know much about that sorta thing you could probably put one in your current glove box.

Yes I'm sure I could make it so a lock cylinder would jam the latch but I'd be concerned about the strength and security of the mechanism. I'd feel better having one that was designed and tested to be a lock box. I also thought about locking the second removable piece in the center console so the 3rd "compartment" on the carpet floor would be locked. Same issues with the strength of materials though. I'm not looking for a safe that's bulletproof, but I want some fairly strong/thick plastic at least, would rather it not be a separate piece like a firesafe box in the trunk

Yeah, I'm not sure what else to tell ya I don't know much about locks.
I know the 83-85 blazers had locking glove boxes but past that I dunno.

^^^ all of the 1st gens (p/u's & SUV's) had a lock on the glove box.

personally, i'd luv to be able to fit a console from my '90 'Burb in my Blazer (it has a nice heavy lock on it), but it's like 3X as wide as the space!
