Default Prevent rattles and sqeeks

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to keep my interior panels and hatch on my 2000 2dr blazer from rattling and sqeaking? Thanks

door panels? check this. there are 2 bolts under the arm rest. pull on the door handle and see if the bolts have broke through, i tried bigger washers and only got 1 side to stay rattle free. next i will be trying epoxy, or just bolting it right to the metal door frame.

next check to see if the door clips are holding, those are easy to fix/replace.

and for rear hatch glass, mine sqeaks and rattles bad too, try hockey tape around the latch that the glass clips onto. mine lasts a while, and eventually gets eaten through so i have to redo it.

alls i have left are the rear panels but i dont want to fork out the cash for a T50 torx

You can get these T50 bits for like $1-3 at NAPA stores. Not sure if they have them up in Canada. Even on a smaller 1/4"-drive wrench, they were plenty strong enough to get my seatbelts off.

I put put fat mat behind my door panels and new door panel clips and it all stopped by doing that. Also I put electrical tape around the metal part on the lift glass in the back where it latches down into the tailgate. All of that helped sooo much. Huge difference.

The most effective remedy is to have someone drive your truck while you crawl around and pinpoint the source of the noise. Adding light pressure to panels to see if it stops will help to find individual squeaks. You can either tighten any applicable fasteners or apply thin weatherstrip in the seams to "cushion" the panels from rubbing each other.

As for the latch plague... good luck. Some have had some success with different techniques while others have had only temporary fixes or none at all.

I noticed a rattle at the hatch a few days ago. Annoying as all hell, thought it was the glass/seal. Nope, the DS catch on the gate wasn't fully closed lol. Easy fix - close the gate properly. Also you may be able to adjust the hatches catch on the bottom. Just lossen the bolts & move it downward a bit. Go in small steps so you don't have to slam the hatch though.
