Default Removing Moldings And Emblems

I want to remove the side moldings off my blazer. I know that most of them are just taped on, but i was concerned about the rear corner moldings... are they attached with just tape as well? And if I remove them will there be holes in the body?

If I remove the emblems off the rear will there be holes in the body?

I have removed all the emblems/moldings from my blazer and they were all taped on with doubled sided tape. There will be no holes in the body behind the emblems/moldings.

speed is right. I took mine door molding off too, but you have to watch for rough places around the molding. If there are rough places you may want to consider refinishing the door or replacing the molding.

I used WD40 and fish line. Soak tape with a little WD40 then run fish line behind emblem. Use a high test line and wear gloves.

I'veheard ofthat before, when I worked at a Peterbilt Body Shop the guys there talked about removing badges and stick-onsthat way, and theother body shop I worked at had never heard of it being done like that. I'm not sure if they used WD-40 or something else, but the fishing line is a definite. They all just bought tools form the Snap-On guy for removing trim and badges. Glad to hear it actually works and hear that someone else uses this method!

Now here's the wierd thing. I have a '99 LS which, happens to be missing the trim on the driver's side rear. There are three factory original holes for clips.

definatly i just seen this thread and was going to say fishing line. You can get a tool at local auto body shops made for it that makes it a breeze too. glad you got them off.

I have never tried the wd40 cause most of the time i take badges off its for paint and i don't want fish eye city from the oil
