Replacing mirrors
How do youreplace the side mirrors? I'm thinking about ordering new side mirrors, but I want to at least have a base knowledge so I know what I'm getting into.

Mirror Replacement Removal Procedure Remove the door trim panel. [IMG]local://upfiles/4800/79A05FE0FE6D46F6BB3E30CDE93FD72C.gif[/IMG] Remove the access hole plugs. Remove the nuts that retain the outside rearview mirror to the door. [IMG]local://upfiles/4800/57FEB937193D443290679B540FB0D171.gif[/IMG] Remove the outside rearview mirror from the door. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped. Installation Procedure [IMG]local://upfiles/4800/D018D8E5321F445783FA4573672ECCB8.gif[/IMG] Connect the electrical connector, if equipped. Install the outside rearview mirror to the door. Notice Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. Install the nuts that retain the outside rearview mirror to the door. Tighten Tighten the nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in). [IMG]local://upfiles/4800/1828C5BB66C34946B3D6F8B30003F1C4.gif[/IMG] Install the access hole plugs. Install the door trim panel. |
