Default Rewire and recover heated leather seats

Has anyone had experience replacing the elements in heated seats and if so any tips or links? Also want to recover the seats but I'm told that they use a heavy vinyl instead of leather now. I believe that the seats have to come out of the vehicle to do either job.

To recover them I'm sure they'd have to come out & probably as well for the heating. have you tried Google for ideas, places?

You mean the leather seats aren't actually leather, but vinyl?

The seating surfaces are leather, but quite a bit of the surrounding areas are not.
