Seat Rails Question
I am looking for what kind of rails will work reversed under the current set. I had a 2001 Blazer Xtreme that a shop had put an extra set of rails under the driver seat to increase the distance the seat would go forward to put a wheelchair in the backseat. I now have a 2004 Blazer Xtreme and would like to make it handicapped accessible for me. The shop is no longer in business and I do not know what kind of rails will work to do what I need. The second set was reversed, so I would use the front lever to move the seat forward. I would then use the back lever to move the seat an additional 6-8 inches. I would then be able to lift my wheelchair into the back and put it on the seat. As it is right now, I put my wheelchair in the back area and use crutches to get to the front. I am a leg amputee and hopping around the truck is sometimes not very safe. I love the style of the truck and want to use it more without jeopardizing my safety. Local shop that modifies vehicles for handicapped could not help. Sorry so long, this is important to me and my independence.
I have no personal experience doing what you're trying to do, but it seems like another set of rails from the same vehicle welded/bolted/fastened directly above or below the current ones would give you the results you're looking for. They would have to be flipped around backwards, as you already mentioned.
Who came up with that idea in the first place? It's pretty freakin' smart.

Would anyone happen to have a template of the bolt positions for the seat rails? The reverse of that is what would be needed to do it. Depending upon the placing of the holes, reversing the same Blazer rails may not work. Would a passenger side of Blazer work?
