As far as I know there shouldnt be any holes. For sure on those emblems on a 98+ dont have holes on the back lift/tailgate. When your taking them off use either WD40 or a mild soap solution and soak the adhesive part and then using fishing line to peel them off. Then clean up the area with some rubbing compound and wax.

if i were to do this, wouldn't the paint be faded around the area? i have a 98 and would like to take the emblems off mut i would think that its a lot darker red underneath.

I dunno, i thought it would be like that on my white jimmy, but itlooked like they had never even been there... Maybe if it was red on an 88. I guess it depends on how good or bad your paint is...

Iwas worried about that w/ mine too, but some good waxin' fixed that problem
And if it is really faded, just get some double sided tape and stick 'em back on!
