Spray paint
 

Previous owner decided to spray paint the original mirrors while on the truck.without tapping anything off and left alot of overspray. The paint on my truck is in very good shape so i want to try to get the spray off. What can i use that wont damage my paint? Also it has been there for at least 2 years. I have tried a light compound but it didnt touch it.

Try some Never Dull. Works great at removing spray paint, though I don't know how it will do after it has been on there for two years.

Is there still a layer of clear-coat between the over-spray and the original paint? If so, you can try what AJBert suggested and if you do go through the clear-coat, you could respray the clear-coat just where you need it.

I sprayed clear-coat on a panel to fix the clear-coat that was starting to peel at the base of a rear window. I was able to mask off most of the area but thought I could blend it using the spray can. Nope. But, where there was the clear-coat over-spray I was able to sand it down smooth again starting with 400 or 600 grit and finishing with 3000 or 5000 grit. I wet sanded and it got so smooth the water started to bead up!

It was a good lesson in fine sanding. Once I got things sanded just enough with the 400 or 600, it didn't take much sanding of each of the subsequent grits before I could move on to the next.
