Train Horn
Anyone know how to install a train horn? I did a Google search and found train horn kits

Depends on what you are calling a train horn and how you want it hooked up.
There is anything from the cheap electric horns that are under $50 to real train horns for a few 100 that requires a compressor and tank.
I run 4 horns off a freightliner but I have on board air (compressor and 5 gallon tank)

Hey neo, where did you put the compressor? I am pretty interested in getting one off of eBay, specifically this one:
4-Trumpet Train Air Horn Kit with 110 PSI Compressor | eBay
Also, where did you mount the horn itself? I was thinking under the hood.

My compressor is mounted under my hood, the 5 gallon airtank under the body, and my horns are mounted behind my new bumper and on my frame rail.

Not much to see, tank is mounted to pass side frame rail with brackets I built. Compressor is mounted to the inside fender. Right now the front end is off working some stuff over so most of it is in a pile in the shed. Ill most likely have to redo it all when I'm done with the fenders and core support.

It is pretty much straight forward work, you can mount them basically anywhere you want as long as you have enough electrical wire and air hose to run. Be sure that the horns aren't easily visible because in some areas there are noise restrictions and you could get a hefty fine if you get caught. ESPECIALLY on "private" property like a grocery store parking lot I would recommend just using them on the street to avoid trouble as much as possible. There is a reason why any street-able vehicle doesn't come from the factory with a train horn.

yea i know
I was just wondering where he mounted them
most of my family being truck drivers we mostly know the laws about them

not sure about specifics, but there was an old pinto ran around here with a horn, the a/c had crapped out, they used that compressor to charge the horns, not sure what they had for a reserve to hold pressure, they'd shake the ground when they went off lol
