Default Trying to get behind the grille

I have a 2024 Blazer and I am trying to get access behind the plastic grill part of the front bumper to install something. I have removed a few trim pieces under the hood and now there is a plastic cover (arrows) that has some kind of black plastic grid below it with fins that possibly open and close in front of the radiator. Would anyone know if there is a way to lift that out or does it require taking off the entire front bumper/grill assembly to get at that area?

I believe that your arrows are pointing to the active grill shutters. I don't have access to the service info for the newer vehicles, but on most all of the ones I have worked on with these infernal devices, step one is removal of the front bumper cover. And I say 'infernal' because they are only there to try to eek out a few more tenths of an mpg during certain driving scenarios (cold weather driving, cold engine operation, etc) and GM's implementation of them has been somewhat problematic.

My advice is to avoid the removal of the cover if at all possible. If you can, try to gain access from the bottom side by removing some of the lower close out panels to see if there is better accessibility from below for whatever it is you are trying to install. It would suck to break a clip on the bumper cover where it meets the fender on a brand new vehicle. If you do end up removing the bumper cover, I did see that there are a few videos of the process up on the 'tube for your viewing pleasure.
is one that I watched quite a bit of. The clips under the DRLs and at the fenders are what can be problematic on pretty much any modern vehicle so be very careful in those locations!

I actually did watch that video previously and my biggest concern was those clips that attach the bumper to the fender. I guess I don't understand how the clips work so I am not sure exactly where to pry to safely separate them. I do have a set of trim removal tools, but still, the video doesn't show much other than pry and pull, and then to put it back together, how is that done?.

As for underneath, right below the grill shutters is a piece of plastic the blocks off the entire area and right below that is some type of screen covering the grill openings, so it doesn't seem like that way is any more feasible.

I am at a loss for how to properly describe how to disengage these clips other than nerve-racking. I have successfully pulled things apart on close to new vehicles on up to 5 year old vehicles and unsuccessfully done it on 10+ year old vehicles... I do it all based on feel while giving a bit of a lift up towards either the fender or the headlight/DRL (whatever the vehicle has with the mount under it). You are trying to move the bumper cover away from the clip part that bolts in under the bumper cover or is part of the headlight or drl.

My most recent unsuccessful attempt was on my son's winter beater '13 Cruze that needed new radiator mounts, fans, and intercooler piping. I know I wasn't the first person in there so who knows who broke things originally, but things went back together well enough for what the car is used for.
