I have found how much fun can be had in the rain removing the larger flare from a pick n pull donor vehicle.

Now I am stymied by the foam insert covering the upper bracket nut. Is this foam needed or nice to have? Also could remove it to save my soul as I could find the proper size socket(?)

Any help would be appreciated
