what are some of the easiest things to do to get some more horses with a 262? there is no way i can afford to buy a separte engine and do a swap right now

 

Are you able to rip into your current engine? A new cam and a bit of an overhaul will give quite a few more horses. Or are you looking for more of a bolt-on solution?

 

mail order tune from wait4meperformance or pcmforless. i HAVE NOT gotten mine yet but am in the process of ordering it. from what ive heard they are very good power for the money.

 

porting, boring and and pcm tune would get the most out of it. turbos are fun(but i hate them) cam would be nice. but with everything being said, i would just save up and buy a v8. yeah, it would be cheaper to do all of that to your 6, but you will alwayz make more power with the 8. i would do what most ppl do and buy a 350 or an ls motor and build it up while still having the 6 in the truck. get all the parts and everything else needed. then set a weekend aside and do it. you'll be much happier. my 2cents.

 

Where's the thread for the V8 swap? Sounds like an interesting project.
