I'd like to know as well. And I wonder if it would also work if a vortec V8 was swapped in?

If you want to tune it yourself- hp tuners software. Be warned there is a huge learning curve and you can damage your engine if not done properly. Don't waste your money on any of the 'chip's or pre programmed tuners. Either tune it yourself or bring it to a professional.

bear in mind, a tune won't do much of anything unless you have other mods done to it. Ie: intake, exhaust, cam, headwork, etc.

Don't waist your time or money on the infamous "resistor box" tuners found on eBay

We had one come in on a Silverado the other week at work (salvage yard) and I was curious... Was just a little black box with 2 wires coming out of it that tapped into the wiring for the AFM. I popped it open and inside was a little circuit board hot-glued to the inside of the box, those 2 wires were soldered to the circuit board, and on that board was some sort of chip that was loosely held in place, not soldered or electronically connected to anything, just sitting in the box. Looked it up and the boxes were selling for $70 on eBay, so yeah someone wasted their money on that thing lmao.

To truely "tune" any vehicles computer, it takes specialized software as chevyrider mentioned, don't be lead on by these "magic boxes" that are sub $100 found online that claim better MPG, HP, throttle response, etc... they're complete a load of manure and all the companies that make and sell them should be sued and have their businesses shut down...
