custom exaust, good idea or bad?

ok, so i was thinking the other day, about how beded-trucks have the "stack pipe exaust" and i was thinking about makeing a custom exaust comming up through the rear floor of the blazer, then going straight up, out of the roof and hooking over, kind of like a big 18=wheeler, just more stealth and hidden, i was thinking this might be a good idea, but i would like other peoples opinions and sugestions on how to make this work. i am going to be makeing a rough sketch of the plan after i get a little more advice form you all. ANYTHING will be helpfull! thanks!

Exhaust in cabin=bad & won't pass inspection

Unless I read it wrong and you meant something else by routing the exhaust through the floor of your Blazer.

Yeah, are you thinking of running the exhaust through the cabin?? Don't think that would work at all. Not only would you not pass any inspection, buy you would have a huge amount of heat seep into the cabin and I don't think any type of heat shield would solve the problem.

yes i know that it wont pass any inspection, but in south carolina there is no vehicle inspection required by law so you can do almost anything you want to. i was also going to enclose it in with 1/4" sheet metal to reduce noise and close the floor and roof around it, it would have to be air tight.

No need to poke fun. I would have to question the safety of such a modification... Hot exhaust gases passing through enclosed sections of the passenger compartment would not be something I would do...

With that said, anything can be done. Just depends on how much you want to do it. Only thing you will gain is looks and if that is what you want, go for it!

I wouldn't risk it. You don't want that heat, noise, or possible exhaust leak in your cabin. It is not gonna sound that great either, stacks only sound good with diesels.

well i was going to do an airtight welded area around the pipe its self on the inside part of the blazer, just have it exposed on the outside
