OK, I would have to agree with Swartlkk if you have enough ambition anything is pretty much possible. I personally think that this is going to be the proverbial "can-o-worms." You may be able to seal it off effectively from the cabin, you may be able to dampen the sound well. How are you goingt o deal with the heat seepage?? 1/4 inch steel is pretty stout, but it will transfer heat onto any surace that it is touching. Hot metal+surrounding material=FIRE. Don't really want to deal with that do you. BUT, if you have the time, money and materials to pull this off, by all means attempt it. Just make sure you have all your I's dotted and T's crossed before doing it. I would hate to see you put all that time and effort into something like that and then lose your whole ride because of an inadequate heat shield.

"Are you on F****** Glue?" just kdding, sounds like a very cool/not very well thought out idea, but would be awesome to see, and very innovative.

The whole idea of the exhaust system is to get the gasses out 1) as fast as possible, and 2) as safely as possible. You're negatively increasing both.

If ya wanna be unique...dump it out right behind the front wheels. Then you still get your exhaust gas to the driver, andddddddd the loud sound inside :D

[sm=badidea.gif] heat = bad.... and that would really make it hard to sell some day with 2 3' holes in the floo and roof.. but to each his own i guess...
