Just guessing, but would a standard small block chevy set work?? Most everything else does.

I'm not completely sure if a gear drive from a SBC would work due to the presence of the balance shaft...

Just curious, why would you want a gear drive? The only real need for one is if you have increased your valve spring pressures and are chewing up timing sets. The stock timing set is quite reliable.

why not just go with a blower/supercharger. Not only do you get the whining noise but you get the power too lol.

^^^ That is a good point. I just checked out the ad and it doesn't really specify wether they are talking about the 4.3 V6 that we have in our blazers now, or the 4.3 V8 that was made by chevy back in the 70's.

Most parts that bolt on the 350, bolt on the 4.3.

The only thing that might cause a problem is the ballance shaft.

You could buy an entire piston/ring/valvetrain upgrade kit for a 5.7L Chevy SBC, and you'll have an extra pair of everything when you're done...

Usually

That's why, if I don't do a V8 swap, I'm getting a Vortech supercharger kit for the 350...

to answer 2 of the4 questions so far,,,, The reason for the gear drive is because in good ol NY the blazer will never pass insp legally with a full blower system on it..
