Don't waist your money...

Do a full and proper tune-up and it'll probably give you more results.

If you want to stiffen up the 1-2 shifts, look into installing a Corvette 1-2 shift servo into the 4L60E transmission that's in the Blazer.

I've seen similar products on eBay, as well.

I have not tried, and assumed that it wouldn't be any good. (The ol' "You get what you pay for" idea)

Surely someone on here has tried this, or a like product, and has some sorta results...?

"Performance Economy Tuner"

Talk about an oxymoron. Forget it and save your money for a real tune.

Ok. Thanks for the input. I've done a tune up, but still have a hard 1-2 shift. So I'm gonna look into the Corvette servo. Thanks Red.

Sound more like a TCC solenoid issue. Corvette servo make quicker harder shifts

Ok, yea I'm looking more for a smoother shift then a hard shift... not sure if theres much I can do about it.

also what's the easiest way to get more output from the engine without doing too much? Are any performance chips really worth it?

searched the TCC solenoid. Will look more into that when I have time to climb under.

go to a trans. specialist for a diagnosis and an estimate. you can replace just the one bad solenoid or replace the entire valve body.

I have always been told that a harder shift is actually better for the transmission.
I was told that a soft shift actually just allows more slippage in the plates and actually will cause them to wear out sooner.

It makes sense but that harder shift can be difficult to get used to.
That was our old 1999 GMC Savanna van. The mechanic put in a corvette valve body when he rebuilt it.
I still miss that van, the old 350 was a great engine.
It had 242,000 miles on it when my wife lost it on some ice and ran it head first into a cement barrier wall.

Radar; a harder shift is better. less slippage and therefore less wear on clutch packs. but that is when you have modded the trans to have a firmer shift. i thought that the OP donl wanted a smoother shift, but had on its own, gotten too firm. that indicates a problem with the trans.
