Actually he stated that he wanted to remove a hesitation between 1st & 2nd.
I read that as being different from a soft shift but not a firm shift either.

It does take for ever to shift from 1-2 when give it all off the line. And when it finally does, it slams into 2. Im looking into possible ways to get power out of that hesitation, and eliminate as much of that slam as possible. Without doing any major work.

I'm wondering if high performance plugs and wires, "cold air" intake( performance MAF sensor?), eliminate clutch fan and install electric, and upgraded exhaust/muffler. All that combined should help out.
