Default Code 43 ESC Failure corrected

I first replaced knock sensor (which was a real pain to do) and that did not correct the problem so today I went to the junkyard and pulled a ESC moudle from an 89 Jimmy and installed it in the junkyard parking lot and fault did not come back once I started the car. The junkyard charged me a grand total of $6.50 compared to about $60.00 new from NAPA.

60 is the cheap one at napa, I got that one for mine, didnt have any code, just thought it was a good idea. They also had one for 150.. The stuff that fits in your pocket at the wreckers is usually free where I go

The junkyard I go to is a U-Pull it and they usually do not charge very much for anything that I am looking for. Lots of times I get some nuts or bolts that I need and they do not bother charging. I just keep it honest and do not mind paying the small amounts they charge. Also if the item is defective you can return it for a replacement or cash back.

Where did you locate the ESC module?

The ESC is mounted on the firewall to the left of the distributer. If your asking where I purchased mine it was at a local U-Pull it Junkyard and I pulled it off of another Blazer. I swapped in the junkyard ESC in the parking lot and corrected my fault code.

All I see on the firewall are twolittle black boxes just to the left of the master cylinder. Is that it?

mr.vls has an '89. What are you driving?

On a '93-'95, for instance, Code 43 is Knock sensor signal was either above 3.5 volts or below 1.5 volts for at least 20 seconds. There is no ESC.

You don't have an ESC; that's handled by the ECM. That code is for a knock sensor on your truck. You have 2: one near the spark plugs in the driver's side head and one in the back of the passenger side head towards the firewall.
