I have 2 10" subs at the moment, I am looking to go to a single 10, a la jl audio stealthbox, or at least use that part of the cargo area. Do you know where I can find ideas with the measurements? Please.
Welcome. I use an 8" non-powered Bazooka tube mounted on the inside of the right wheel well, pointed at the RR corner, four Focal 6" component speakers in the doors/pillars, and a 5-channel Soundstrem Nano amp mounted in the place for the On-Star box. The bazooka tube can be removed in 30 seconds with a couple of straps and stores on the floor behind either front seat, if I need the cargo space. Maybe that would be an option for you. Probably they make bigger tubes if you need it. Depends on the kind of music that you play. Personally I'm an old fart into Progressive Rock (Think Pink Floyd, Rush, Porcupine Tree, Riverside, Shadow Gallery, etc) and Progressive Metal (Like Dream Theater, Symphony X, Redemption, etc.) so I need balanced sound (not all bass).
We do have an audio/video/electronics part of the forum if that is your thing! You may get more/better answers if you post there.
Another option if you're ok with DIY stuff, is what I did: I built a custom fibreglass enclosure for my 4-door Blazer that fit into the space behind the right rear wheel well, where I believe the JL StealthBox is designed to go. It housed a 10" Kicker L7 Solobaric sub. The enclosure fit below the factory cargo cover, and worked perfectly for my needs. It still allowed me to have 99% of my cargo space, while giving me a sub for bass. Cost me less than $50 in parts, and a few hours of labour to build it.
Sorry for the ugly photo, but it’s all I could find quickly.
