Default Ice Fishing

Took the Blazer out today for some fun on the ice and a little ice fishing. I wish there was snow on the ice so I could slide around w/ a little more traction but it was still fun. Here a few photos from today. The ice was only 2 1/2 feet thick where we stopped to fish.

There were probably 200 or more cars out on the lake. I saw some pretty massive trucks just flying across the lake. The cracks were already there and those aren't even pressure cracks. It is actually better for a lake to crack b/c then it freezes stronger. I ended up catching all perch.

Where do you have 2 1/2 feet of ice? I'm headed up north this weekend (Tawas, MI) to fish a bay on Lake Huron. Most inland lakes around metro Detroit only have ~6" of ice so far. By the way...No fish pictures???
