My buddy spliced the interior lights right off the fuse for the headlights inside the dash. Ran the wire down in the dash and just grounded the lights on the parking break arm. It's cobbled some but it's clean and the interior lights are on when I turn the headlights on

You could do that, but the headlight fuse isn't going to make it turn on with them, it'll just be powered all the time. You'd need to connect it to the load side of the relay for the headlights. In my opinion though, it would get annoying to have them on whenever it is night time.

I agree, having them on all the time would get annoying very quick.

I just need to figure out how to do it. My mother's little kia has some light blue ones under hers, connected to her headlights for night driving, and they look wonderful.. For now i keep the package of lights in the passenger seat, (where everything else ends up as a catch all) and I keep pushing the little button on it and the whole truck lights up. I really want these under my dash... I just have no idea how to wire these up hardwire...

You can do that on headlight wiring then maybe add a switch for the led strip.
