I'm looking to install a Uniden 510XL CB into my '96. Any thoughts on what antenna I should get? Ideas where I should install it? Thanks chaps!

I have a stereo install similar to THIS, would it be wise to install the CB in the slot under the head unit?

 

I ran a 4ft Firestik on mine, was nice. Also, check my build thread "2000 Blazer build up" I think its called and you can see how I installed mine.

If you don't have a shop nearby which can do the SWR tuning, the Firestick is tuned at the factory... you just get the 18 ft. coax cable, and you're good to go.

That looks good! I'll be mounting mine in the center console as well whenever I get around to reinstalling it since I had to move it from mine original spot.

 

Here's the one in my Sonoma, I want to get the same one for the Blazer eventually too.

 

Mine is also in the cassette slot like the one above.

Thank You Rex! I had it below the ash tray at first, but we have been having hoodlums stealing them out of vehicles...so I hid mine. When not in use I put the mic in the center with the unit. out of sight out of mind!
