Only some freqs... we had to licence the ones we used in the nightclub to talk, but you can buy VHF radios at any truckstop in canada. Its only like 135-172 though, anything outside that needs licence I beleive.

dear lord now thats a set up. i remember running a rci 2950 wayyyy back like 15 years ago. great radio. it had all sorts of weird inbetween channels and even fm. also ran a solorcon (if thats how you spell it) antenna, used to be able to talk like 15 miles if it was quiet on the air
