Default 01 blazer front diff temp in 2wd

i am having a groaning problem in my truck, when i spun the front drivers side wheel, i can hear gears clicking together kinda loudly. I also notice that within twenty or thirty miles in 2wd, the front diff is almost too hot to hold your hand on. is this normal?

This doesnt sound very normal to me. Might want to check to see if you have any gear oil in there or do a full flush on the front diff. Might be eating your gears up!

Yep, I think you'll find the diff is rather dry. I hope you haven't run it too long like that. Also, if dry, you should check for where it was leaking.

nope, not running low in fluid. I have drained it and filled it to the fill hole twice. Still not sure why it is getting so hot.

you might have a bad wheel bearing. or your bearing is dry and starting to go.
