Default 01' S10 Turning Left Noise in Steering

01' S10 Chevy Blazer 4.3L V6 Vortec

My blazer turns right as it should without any noises with a full turn radius.
When I turn left, I can turn 3/4 turn of the wheel to the left without issue or noise, once I turn 1 full turn of the wheel to the left, something grinds for a split second, makes an awful noise but then goes away.
Turning past that point when turning left is again okay without any noises.

What should I look at to fix this (turning left) problem?

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a noise related to steering that only occurs over a narrow range of wheel deflection.

I'm assuming this noise is heard with the vehicle in motion. Do the symptoms vary at all with speed?

As for diagnosis, I'd put the vehicle on jackstands and do a visual and mechanical inspection by grabbing components to see if they are loose or if you feel any interference. You'll want to try to recreate the symptoms by spinning the wheels with the steering wheel set at different deflections.

Hopefully someone else can provide more insight on this.
