Default 1983 K5 Blazer

Noticed that about 10 minutes after driving, without 4X4 engaged, the front axle hubs get hot. Is this just normal heat dissipation? The vehicle has 9500 original miles on it and has been sitting in a garage for quite a few years. I disassembled right and left front axles, cleaned and relubed the bearings and reassembled. The axles still seem to be hot after only twenty miles. It does take around ten minutes for the axles to heat up and there is no smell.
