1998 LT ratttle from rear end
around 2200 rmp there is a rattling coming from the rear end of my 1998 LT. Any suggestions???

Always at this RPM regardless of ground speed? If so, it isn't a problem with the rear end.

i'm kinda with Kyle on this.
what happens to the sound as your RPM's increase? decrase?
try keeping you foot steady on the throttle (since your RPM's give the impression you're doing highway speeds) and lightly "touch"-but don't apply-the brake pedal (unlocks your converter)..........what happens to the sound now?
if it's in the diff, nothing will happen to the sound (provided you didn't change your speed) since the internal rotation of the carrier/axles has remained the same.

thanks for the replies. it sometimes also happens from a dead stop like at a stop sign but mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear at 2200 RPM. Once it gets above that mark it goes away with steady throttle but its only for a few seconds everytime it does it. Its not like its a constant sound all the time
