4wd issue...4H works but 4L doesnt.

Default 4wd issue...4H works but 4L doesnt.

so before the gaskets blew last year i could get the transfer into low but the front axle wouldnt engage. now that its running again, i replaced my vac lines and my 4H works but when i put it in 4L it just flashes at me. any ideas? 2000 lt/ls 4wd auto

I had the same problem in my 2000 blazer. *not saying this is definitely your problem* because this blazer is my first 4x4... my problem was operator error... i didn't know the truck needed to be moving to go into 4low. After i figured that out it was a matter of getting the right vehicle speed matched up with the rpm's... kinda like shifting a manual trans... now i can get it back and forth at will.

you should ALWAYS be shifting into 4low in neutral, not while you are moving.

I have to get the truck rolling, pop it into neutral, then match the revs... otherwise it won't go into 4low.

I second this, you should not be moving when putting it into 4 lo

i always come to a stop when engaging 4H or 4L. its just kind of puzzles me.
