Default 4x4 half engaged?

So I hit a huge puddle the other day going 40 (did not see it). ever since when i make a sharp turns at slow speeds i have a clicking/resistance in what feels like the front end. I jack it up on stands and put it in drive and all 4 tires spin, one front tire spins faster than the other. So i pull the 4x4 fuse in the cab and they stop spinning and the clicking goes away but half my gauges go out. When i put the fuse back in i hear a an electrical click over by the passenger floor mat, pcm? but my guages work and axle noise comes back. The 4x4 actuator motor went bad a while back so i pulled it (nothing is under there right now). Any ides what is happening? should i look into the vaccum system or solenoid? (idk where the solenoid is on the firewall). Can i just pull the front drive shaft? Thanks in advance. 2000 blazer (trailblazer) with 214k. 4dr 4x4.
