4x4 problems

Default 4x4 problems

I have a 99 s10 zr2 that wont go into 4hi it will go into 4lo and 2hi but not 4hi. When i push the 4 hi button it does absolutely nothing. And when i put in N and push 4lo it engages but the 4hi and 4lo lights are on. Somebody please help

check the connection at the tccm for corrosion. its under the passenger side kick panel.

I'd check to see if you can manually put it into all positions to make sure there's nothing binding in the transfer case. I doubt this would be the case though since it goes into 4 lo fine but it's good to check anyway.


My next thought is it is the TCCM itself

Whats the name of the rod that goes into transfer case that engages the hi and low 4x4

Hey, sorry to bring a tread back from the dead. ( didn't want to start a new one. ) but did you ever find out what the issue was? i'm having the same problem and been searching on here for awhile, but can't figure it out myself. Thanks if anyone figured it out.

I had a similar issue with mine and it was a fault with the switch in the dash. I removed the switch, took it apart and found that a number of the solder joints on the board for the main connectors had cracked.

I re-soldered all of the the joints and it's worked perfectly ever since...
