Default 95 4wd blazer

I have a 95 blazer 4wd and for starters i love it! But the shocks are so bad its like they don't even exist. I purchased some new ones from the local parts store for around 32 bucks a pop. I purchased the blazer from someone that just moved from up north and there is a good bit of rust underneath. I managed to get the top bolts off, but can only get the bottom nut off, not the bolt. Ive hammered till i am blue in the face and i cant get it out. I took a grinder to the outside sleeve of the shock and there is a sleeve that the bolt is going threw. When i put the socket to it both the sleeve and the bolt turn at the same time.

Has anyone seen this before? Should i just cut the whole thing off and replace the bolt, if so, where is the best place to find one?

Thanks!

Just grind/cut the old bolts out. Any auto parts store should be able to see you new bolts.

Thanks, i just wasn't sure if there was a tool i was missing or some trick. This is my first blazer. I do find it odd though that this blazer doesn't have coil springs. A buddy if mine has the same year explorer 4wd and it has them. As a matter of fact, most 4wd's that i have seen do.

Thanks again!

Rust can be a pain. Just cut it off and get some new hardware and save your time and aggravation.
