Default 95 blazer lack of power assist or normal?

I don't feel that the steering on my 95 blazer 4x4 (non variable assist) is as 1 finger touch like most GMs I've driven? I've never driven blazer of this vintage so maybe they are two handers? If I'm moving I can pretty much get away with my normal one handed driving, but I find myself doing two hand, over hand, in parking lots, and slow speed maneuvers? I replaced the steering pump, with a known good one off my 07 express van ( I changed over the relive and cover) And it made no change? So is it a problem with the box, or is this just normal?

I know I do not have the extra port on the back of the pump that has a wire going to it for variable assist, my dads full size 97 pickup has this and its 1 finger steering so nice! Can I add this to my blazer somehow?
