99 Bravada cv axle question

99 Bravada cv axle question
I have a 99 Bravada, has quite a few miles. I was planning on freshening up a few things, like the differential fluid (both), transfer case fluid, and probably the cv axles. No problems with them yet, but might as well, just to be sure.
My question is about disconnecting them. Do I have to remove the axle disconnect, or are they the ones where I could use a piece of wood and a hammer to get it loose.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

A piece of 2X4 and a hammer usually does it. Driver side can be tricky though. For the stubborn ones, rent these from AZ for free:
OEM/Slide hammer with 18 threads 27033 at AutoZone.com - 2 reviews
OEM/FWD axle puller adapter 27058 at AutoZone.com - 5 reviews
Couple of whacks and even the most stubborn ones pop right out.

You'll need to separate the upper ball joint and outer tie rod end from the knuckle. Then swing the knuckle out of the way to remove the axles. Once the knuckle is out of the way, the puller will fit right in there.

That's what I was thinking, by looking at the suspension parts.
The dealer parts dept says the Autotrak II fluid is like $10, diff fluid is easy to find.
Was thinking about AutoZone for the axles, for ease of warranty replacement.

I guess I could have worded that differently. What i meant was differential fluid is easy to find. I know the Autotrak II fluid and the differential fluid are different.
Sorry for the mix up.

Isn't differential fluid usually like 80w90? Yeah, I don't think the transfer case would agree with something that thick. And vice versa, the differentials would burn up with the thinner Autotrak fluid.
