Default abs light

well time again to ask for more help from my balzer forum friends! i have had the 99 blazer on the road for two weeks now and she makes a moaning/grinding noise when i hit the brakes. oh and when i hit the brakes the pedal would get hard and i would lift off for a sec and than reapply them and it felt like i had to push through a hard spot. i bled them thinking that might be the problem since i had to put in a new line. at first the fluid had bunches of bubbles so i thought ok i fixed it. was better but not fixed. bled them two more times with the same outcome. yesterday the grinding sound was happening without hitting the brakes at all. now today grinding noises stopped, brakes feel great but the abs light is on now. could it be the abs pump or maybe a wheel speed sensor? any advice here? thanks in advance.

If the light is on take it to a shop that can read the ABS codes then go from there. It's the best way to not throw money at a problem and spend more then you need to.

yeah i am with you there. after i posted this i read around and found an old post sounds similar to mine. sounds like it may be a wheel sensor thats been rusted from sitting for a while. this weekend ill take her apart and clean it up and hope the sensor will make contact and the moaning from the truck and my wife will stop!

I had a bad wheel speed sensor a few months back. IMHO I wouldn't bother with just getting the wheel speed sensor. Go ahead and buy a new wheel hub. It's not much more expensive and will fix the problem if that is what it is. You still want to get the code read so that you know which one is bad. Don't replace both if you don't have to. I got my wheel hub off of ebay and only spent about 40 for it. Check it out if that is what you want to do. I will say this though if you are going to be messing with the speed sensor/hub take a look at your suspension (ball joints, tie rods, and bushings) if you're going to have the hub off might as well go ahead and replace anything that is worn or about to go.
